The strength and love that you're looking for is already inside you. My job is to help you find it and nurture it.

Welcome

Alice Wen is a psychotherapist at Repose. She most enjoys working with people who find it hard to relate to others or to themselves. Many of them want to feel safer and more confident as they move through the world.

Alice grew up moving back and forth between China and the US, and that experience shapes how she listens. Working with her feels warm and steady. She pairs practical skills with real care for how you treat yourself along the way. Her hope is that you leave with more confidence and a kinder relationship with yourself.

Working together

How Alice can support you

People often come to Alice for support with trauma, OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), and anxiety. She also works with cross-cultural questions, relationship and interpersonal concerns, and depression. Eating disorders, ADHD, and self-esteem are part of her work too.

In therapy with Alice, clients work toward a clearer understanding of themselves and their values. They explore what they need for a happier, more fulfilling life. Alice hopes clients grow more confident that they can meet life's demands. She also hopes they build a kinder, more compassionate relationship with themselves.

Her approach

Alice's approach

Alice draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also uses Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness. For OCD, she draws on Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

Alice blends cognitive behavioral tools with somatic, body-aware approaches. This supports a holistic view of each person and the problems they are facing. The mix can help people make real changes in daily life while tending to how they relate to themselves.

Why Alice

Why work with Alice

Alice moved back and forth between China and the US growing up. That experience helps her understand different cultures and perspectives, and what it is like to live between them.

Alice has two years of training and work focused on ERP for OCD. OCD is often misunderstood, and without the right training a therapist can reinforce compulsions by accident. This focus also informs her work with anxiety, phobias, and other compulsive or addictive behaviors.

Alice combines cognitive behavioral and somatic approaches. Together they support a holistic view of you and what you are facing, along with a warmer relationship with yourself.

About

About Alice Wen

Alice holds a Master of Arts in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University, with training in EMDR, ERP, and mindfulness-based therapy. She loves reading fiction, especially fantasy. She sings, listens to K-pop, and watches a lot of Asian dramas and anime. Alice wanted to be a writer before she became a therapist, and she is still drawn to the art of storytelling in many forms. She also enjoys puzzles, Lego, and board games, and happily owns her nerdy side.
