Therapy for young adults and college students

Your late teens and twenties bring big questions about identity, work, and relationships. Therapy offers space to figure things out at your own pace.

Where to begin

It is a lot to hold, and you do not have to hold it alone

Young adulthood can mean new cities, new freedom, and new pressure. You might be balancing classes or a first job, relationships, money, and family expectations, all while figuring out who you want to be.

Feeling anxious, lonely, or unsure during this time is common. Therapy can help you steady yourself and choose your direction.

Understanding it

What young adults bring to therapy

Young adults come to Repose for anxiety, low mood, perfectionism, burnout, relationship questions, identity exploration, and adjusting to school or work. International and first-generation students often navigate cultural adjustment and family expectations too.

Our Union Square office is close to New York University, The New School, and the School of Visual Arts. Online sessions fit busy schedules.

Questions people ask

Questions about therapy for young adults

Why not use my college counseling center?
Campus centers are a great resource, but many limit sessions or have waitlists. Some students also prefer keeping therapy separate from school.
Do you take student insurance?
We are in-network with some student plans. Our Client Care Team can check your coverage.
Can I keep seeing my therapist over breaks?
If you are in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut during breaks, yes. Sessions must happen while you are located in one of those states.
