Eating disorders & body image

Therapy for eating concerns and body image

Your relationship with food, movement, and your body can carry a lot. Therapy offers a respectful, non-judgmental place to explore it.

Where to begin

Your body is not the problem

Eating concerns and body image struggles are common, and they affect people of every size, gender, age, and background. You might notice rigid food rules, cycles of restricting and bingeing, compulsive exercise, or constant criticism of your body.

You do not need to be "sick enough" to deserve support. If it is on your mind, it matters.

Understanding it

How eating and body image concerns can show up

These concerns can range from chronic dieting and emotional eating to diagnosable eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and ARFID (avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder). Body image struggles can also appear on their own.

Repose provides outpatient therapy. If a higher level of care would serve you better, we will help you find it.

Our approach

How we work with eating and body image

We approach food and bodies with respect, curiosity, and care, and attend to the feelings and experiences underneath.

    Orientation

  2. Step 2

    Stabilizing

Building support, safety, and coordination with other providers if needed.

  3. Step 3

    Processing

Exploring emotions, beliefs, and experiences linked to food and body.

  4. Step 4

    Integration

Relating to your body with more trust, kindness, and ease.
