I do this work because I believe that healing requires an active, collaborative partnership, not a therapist who just sits back and nods their head. When you feel trapped in cycles of distress, it can feel all-consuming and never-ending. I am deeply committed to guiding clients as they rewrite their narratives, heal from past experiences, and build lasting emotional resilience.
Welcome
Advika Anand is a psychotherapist at Repose. She supports people navigating trauma, anxiety, and challenges in their relationships. Advika enjoys working with clients who want to explore how their identities, cultural backgrounds, and experiences shape the way they relate to others and to themselves.
Working with Advika is active and collaborative. She sees therapy as a partnership, especially for people who feel stuck in cycles of distress. Together, you look at how the past shapes the present and build tools for what comes next. Each session is shaped around who you are, with respect for your lived experience.

Working together
How Advika can support you
People often come to Advika for support with trauma, relationship concerns, and anxiety. She also works with self-esteem and identity. Cultural conflicts and communication skills are part of her work too.
Advika hopes clients leave with stronger emotional regulation and healthier relationships. She also hopes they leave with a plan for the future that feels like their own. Her aim is to support clients as they reclaim a sense of agency and build fuller, more satisfying lives.
Her approach
Advika's approach
Advika is an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner. She uses a trauma-informed approach to help clients process past experiences safely.
She pairs EMDR with relational therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and narrative interventions, which look at the stories we tell about our lives. This mix helps connect the dots between past, present, and future. Advika and her clients look at where thought patterns, biases, and behaviors begin. They then pair that understanding with practical, evidence-based tools.
Why Advika
Why work with Advika
Advika is an EMDR practitioner with a deeply trauma-informed approach. Her focus is on helping you process past experiences in a way that feels safe.
Her work explicitly links your past, present, and future. Together, you explore where your thoughts and behaviors come from, then put that insight to work with evidence-based tools.
Advika brings her multicultural upbringing and a wide range of relational and narrative tools to her work. She does not use a one-size-fits-all approach. Each session is tailored to your identity and lived experience.
About
About Advika Anand
Advika holds a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from NYU Steinhardt and has completed EMDRIA-certified EMDR training. When she is not in the therapy room, you can usually find her hunting down the best hot chocolate in NYC, producing music, or losing herself on a dance floor. She is a big believer in creative joy, whether that means laughing at a local comedy show or crocheting custom gifts for the people she loves.
