Online Therapy — Virtual by Design

We offer premier online offerings using our state-of-the-art secure video platform and online office allows us the freedom to connect with you no matter where you are geographically located. You have the ease of scheduling therapy at a place and time that is convenient, comfortable, and safe for you.

Although the concept of teletherapy is gaining new popularity, it has long been offered as an adjunct to in-person therapy when clients need additional support during an unforeseen crisis or are unable to make office visits due to scheduling conflicts. Online therapy is also a great option for expats and humanitarians, those with progressive fast-paced and modern lifestyles, and for folks that otherwise may not have the accessibility to high-quality mental health care.

Our team at Repose, understands both the joys and the demands that accompany living in a foreign country and culture and feel it is important to increase access to specialized care to all.

Online therapy is effective, however, it is not always appropriate for every presenting clinical concern. If you were recently hospitalized for

a mental health related reason, are experiencing active suicidal ideation, or need emergency crisis resources, Repose may not be the best

option for you. Our team is only able to provide the level of care that is appropriate for a virtual environment.

Please visit your nearest hospital or call 911 for emergency services.

At Repose, we know the power of the online medium.

Through our continued work with people all over the globe, we have learned and adapted to what works best for them. Our HIPPA compliant, secure, and state-of-the-art platform allows us to connect deeply with our clients though creative and simple means. The Simple Practice portal will allow you to send your therapist messages between sessions in the case of an emergency/re-scheduling, and upload shared documents for homework or journal entry.

Our platform exists on a web-based platform as well as in the form of an app that is downloadable on all phone models. You are able to check into your session using either your phone, laptop or any other tablet device, and we offer both video and voice sessions. We also understand that some things are more easily discussed through text rather than speech, especially disclosures that are emotionally charged.

Through our secure messaging platform you are able to communicate with your therapist via instant messaging, to allow you to express yourself in the way you deem most comfortable for you.

Who Uses Online Therapy?

At Repose, we are well-versed in telehealth best practices and work extensively with folks all through the Americas and Europe, as well as expats whose jobs take them to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, Aruba, Shanghai, Singapore, Seoul, and Mumbai among many other international cities and remote locations. We have bilingual therapists who are fluent in French, Hindi, and Cantonese which allows clients to have a special therapeutic alliance with nothing lost in translation.

As web-based applications grow more sophisticated, people are turning to a remote therapy model as their preferred mode of treatment because it eliminates barriers that would otherwise prevent them from receiving help such as limited free time, or a career that requires frequent travel and living internationally. Online therapy is also an excellent option for new mothers, those managing medical conditions, or those working long or nontraditional hours

Increasingly, our clients who are based in New York City request to work remotely for the sake of saving time and convenience.

What are the Benefits of Online Therapy?

Research shows that therapy from a distance can be just as effective as in-person therapy. It indicates that telepsychiatry clients reported improved mental health after a month of teletherapy. Telepsychiatry patients also reported similar levels of overall satisfaction and comfort as in-person ones (Journal of Telemedicine and Telecare, 2006). Although in-person sessions may be a better fit for some folk, online therapy has several other benefits.

Some folks may not want to devote the time to travel to a therapist’s office, and knowledge of the fact that an hour-long voice or video chat will take no extra time out of their day is attractive. Some folks also struggle to leave their homes because of their mental health issues itself, inhibiting their ability to ever even get started with treatment.
