I believe we are all a product of our environment, however, what that environment is composed of varies from person to person. Whether it consists of relationships, culture, religion, work, and more, all these components comes together to make a unique you. When the interactions with our environment start to feel overwhelming or challenging, we may begin to realize some aspects of our lives are no longer in harmony with our needs and wants.
Mental health is complex. As a South Asian, I recognize there are external pressures - whether systemic, societal, or familial - that are influential factors on our well-being. Taking the first step in reaching out for support may feel scary, but it shows you are motivated to take an active role in your growth and build the life you envision for yourself. It may push you out of your comfort zone, but as you grow, you’ll also experience clarity and come to recognize your strengths in this process.
As your therapist, I will follow your lead and take the time to learn about the many facets of your life that make you unique. In doing so, I will empower you to achieve your goals and be there to support you at each step of your journey.
